Vintage Christmas Card

This is today's card project at Cherish The Thought. We used a cream coloured card blank, a red and grey patterned paper and lace. The image and "Seasons Greetings" are stamped on cream cardstock and the snowflake is a Sissex die cut with a rhinestone for some bling.

Cake Slice Template

For those of you who wanted to know if there is a template to the cake slice boxes I made for the 9th Anniversary of ATC VAncouver I did a search and found a couple and one pie template. I am sure that this is the one Penelope gave us and in my opinion is the best I found.

Vintage Christmas ATC Swap

This is for a one for one ATC swap on PDA with the theme of vintage Christmas. I called my card "Christmas Dreams" for the work stamps I added to the ATC. The background is scrapbook paper run through the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder and white ink rubbed over the high points. The tree is stamped on grunge board and embossed with Emerald green embossing powder. The edges are rubbed with Fired Brick Distress Ink. The hand and photo are from Dover and the sewing machine is a photo of my toy sewing machine.

12 Days of Christmas Gift Swap

These are the gifts all wrapped up for the 12 Days of Christmas Gift Swap, expanded to 18 participants. They are starting to arrive at their destinations, but I can't tell you what is in them until after Day 9 of the gift opening. I wrapped all of my gifts in paper napkin which I hope everyone can use in an art project after opening the gifts. The tag which needed to indicate which day it is to be opened on is made from a collage done on a playing card and scanned. This is then printed to ATC size and rubber stamped with a large no. 9 and the word "Day" I punched a hole in the corner and added a piece of yarn. The packages are tied with a silver curling ribbon.

Knit Scarf

I've been working on this scarf for about 2 weeks in between working on the 9th Anniversary projects and the 12 Days of Christmas Gift Swap gifts. I finished a few days ago and thought it was about time I got it posted to my blog. It measures 5 inches by 60 inches and is knit with Red Heart Kiss yarn in Flame colour on 6.5mm needles.

Here is a closeup detail of the scarf with a little more accurate colour representation.

9th Anniversary ATC Vancouver

Last Sunday, Nov. 15 was the party at the Grind where we usually swap ATCs every month, but to celebrate the 9th anniversary we had "Cake". Boy did we have cake, each member who wanted to could create as many "cake" slices from a template provided by our fearless leader Penelope. Once all the slices were complete they needed to be filled with handmade goodies, finding something to fit these boxes was the challenge and everyone met that challenge with great creativity.

And I filled the slices with the little knit amulet bags I posted earlier, plus a few more for a total of 12.

This is all the swapped slices.

These are all the lovely gifts I received in my swapped slices.

Journal Page "The Wedding"

The challenge this week over on the Created Byhand Challenge is "Times Gone By" so I did a journal page of by grandparents wedding photo. All rubber stamps are from Quietfire Design. The journal is filled with recycled paper from Ruby Dog's Art House and this page is brown cardstock with the cream vertical and horizontal stripes already on the page. I ran pale pink cardstock through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and centered it on the larger square. The next layer is burgundy cardstock run through the Textile embossing folder and rubbed the high points with white pigment ink. The wedding photo is placed at an angle and the words are stamped on light brown text paper. Lace and ribbon are added to the cream stripes. The quote is stamped on pale pink caardstock and layered over blue cardstock. The corner flourishes are stamped with white pigment ink and the quote is added over this.
